PostSubject: Tomasine Ros (Lettre from a long-ago Recruit)   Mon Sep 07, 2009 8:35 am

"Ahoy My Mates,

I am return'd after many years since first hearing about the Confederacy, and looking forward greatly to meeting you all! I have been making my way 'round the Florida peninsula and I am looking to seek out Friendly Faces. Look for me and send me word in Tampa where to look for you,

Tomasine Ros, Welsh expatriate"

OOC:
Finally Pirates! My name is Anne, I'm a long-time roleplayer who stopped by back in Beta as a Recruit. Now, I'm finally I'm able to play and I'm looking forward to joining a Roleplaying Society. I've joined up on Antigua as a Freetrader. Are there Highlanders still about?

Here is a copy of my original app:

Letter smuggled to the HC:
" My Countrymen & Women; -

I Find my Self et al. with my merchant ship "Vitrenard" on the shores of thyese West Indies, seeking Liberté, Fraternité, et Opportunité - Freedome, Brotherhood, & Fortune! My family are all Welsh ex-patriots, fighting for the Cause from France.

I am versed in all the tricks of the Trade; full of natural-born stubborn independance, and an eye to all British goodes
and what else fortune and daring find us; and eager to meet like-minded
ladies and gentlemen of shrewd mind, stout heart and quick laughter on
theys fresh new seas.

Until then, I am about, evading these
soddy Brits, and seeking out a home port. Here's a hope to raise a
toast with you soon to the King Over the Water,

Tomasine Ros, Captain of the 'Vitrenard' "

Character Description:
Compact,
lively female Captain, of the casual, get-yer-hands-dirty variety of
merchants that has everything in their pockets and patches, and can get
anything one way or another. Young and opportunistic, with a skill for
getting into and out of trouble - with words, or wind in the sails.
That is what risk, adventure and the open sea are all about!

-----
OOC:
My
name is Anne, I am a female roleplaying gamer in my 20s looking for a
friendly community in which to learn, be social and have fun. I've
never really played an MMO game before, but the setting, the years of
development, and the presence of roleplaying societies has prompted me
to join.

- Roleplaying to me means adding to the
enjoyment of everyone through creative storytelling. One of my favorite
pastimes is theater, I also do Renaissance Festivals. My gaming
experience includes LARP and RP MUDs.

I'm currently a graduate student researching politics in Iowa, US. Although this begins to sound a bit like a resume Very Happy
I've also studied politics in France, and 18th century philosophy is
one of my favorite subjects. Honestly, I expect to play casually and
who knows if I'll be the best fighter in the world, but I will add to
the experience as a colorful character and be a good team player.

- I'd like to join the Confederacy
to be a part of the ongoing roleplay rivalry with the British. I think
it'd be fun to play with the other RP Societies with the in-depth
storytelling that the HC historical backdrop provides. Also I know that
playing with a good community will make the game so much more enjoyable!

Hope to get to know you more as the release date approaches. Cheers,

Anne

Well It was good to meet you yesterday. Welcome back to the Highland Confederacy and to your friend as well. While I too would like to see more interaction with other factions it is not always possible. I would say some incounters will happen as you journey. I would also like to appoligize for my brief encounter due to the battle in Biloxi but I am sure we can make up for that as we go along.

Most definitely. It is quite a pleasure to be here. I am wondering where the highlanders have all gone off to? Who else do you regularly see?

Well the ones I see most often is of course Edwin Stewart. He was around long before I came to the Confederacy, and I have been here since open Beta. Then there is David Bruce who has been around for along time as well.

On the weekends mostly I run into the Ruiseart MacTamhis, my long time business partner. That is generally early morning when we transact business but do sometimes get in a mission or two. Not nearly enough of the missions as running around between getting Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Leather, Fir logs, Wood Tar, and the assorted milled ship parts takes most of our time.

We do have a couple of newer arrivals in Admiral O'Hazzard and another Naval Officer Andre or something his name slips my mind at the moment. From time to time one of the old timers shows up to suprise me. But that is about it at the present. I do hope I haven't missed anyone.

Welcome back to the Confederacy. As Captain Larkin said, I may be encountered in the early light on the quay in Tampa and Belle Isle, or me son Jean in New Orleans and Port St Joe. I look forward to meeting you.
